German aircraft designer Ernst Heinkel (January 24, 1888 - January 30, 1958) became one of the symbols of the German Luftwaffe. The author, the German historian Dr. Volker Koos, has been collecting photographs, studying historical documents and capturing the memories of Heinkel's collaborators for decades. His work documents the design activities of Ernst Heinkel from World War I until 1958. Part 1 captures the first 10 years of his company's activities and chronologically documents in photographs all types that the company produced for the Swedish Air Force, the USA, Japan and the USSR and of course for the secretly built future Luftwaffe.
